Concrete Surface Repair Certification Exam

NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER TO HOST CONCRETE SURFACE REPAIR TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION EXAM

Our North Texas Chapter will be hosting a Concrete Surface Repair Technician Certification Exam on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at RTC’s facility located at 1433 Crescent Drive, Carrollton, Texas from 8 AM to 4 PM.

In order for ICRI to bring this program to Texas, we will need pre-paid registration from 15 participants.  We will be reaching out to the Houston, South Central Texas and Oklahoma Chapters as well.  Each participant will need to complete and pass the on-line, Educational portion of the program and the Knowledge Exam prior to taking the hands-on, Certification portion on December 8th.

The Educational portion consists of five (5) online training modules, and each module has questions with a certain percentage that must be answered correctly in order to achieve a Certificate of Achievement from ICRI for passing the Educational portion.

The Certification portion consists of a Knowledge Exam, and a recorded or witnessed hands-on performance exam demonstrating competency to perform the following four (4) ASTM field tests:

• C143, Standard Test Method for Slump of Hydraulic-Cement Concrete;
• C1611, Standard Test Method for Slump Flow of Self-Consolidating Concrete;
• C31, Standard Practice for Making and Curing Concrete Test Specimens in the Field;
• C1583, Standard Test Method for Tensile Strength of Concrete Surfaces and the Bond Strength or Tensile Strength of Concrete Repair and Overlay Materials by Direct Tension (Pull-off Method), and ICRI Guideline No. 210.3R, Guide for Using In-Situ Tensile Pull-Off Tests to Evaluate Bond of Concrete Surface Materials

Once you register for this event on the ICRI website, copies of the ASTM Standards will be sent to you.  RTC and the Chapter plan to have all the necessary equipment available for each participant to perform these tests.

If you have already purchased and passed all 5 modules and the Knowledge Exam, the cost will be $350 (member), $400 (non-member).  If you upgrade from the purchased Education course to full CSRT certification, the cost will be $575 (member), $625 (non-member).  If you have not yet purchased any portion of the CSRT, the cost will be $825 (member), $950 (non-member).
