Presentation Info

This presentation will focus on the case studies related to structural strengthening of concrete structures. At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to understand:

• When to strengthen?
• How to strengthen?
• Variables impacting the selection of a strengthening solution, and
• Challenges encountered during the structural strengthening process

Speaker Bio

Daron Hester, P.E., a Senior Principal and Director of Operations in the Diagnostic Group of WALTER P MOORE, helps clients find solutions for asset assessment, restoration, rehabilitation and forensic engineering challenges. He is a licensed professional engineer and has over 15 years of progressive experience in structural engineering and investigative evaluations.

Daron is an active member of International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) and is a past president of Houston Chapter of ICRI. He has earned bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and master’s degree in civil engineering from University of Houston.

Meeting Information

Registration and networking for the meeting will begin at 11 AM, a buffet lunch will be served at 11:30 AM, and the presentation will begin at noon.  Free parking is available in the parking garage which can be accessed off of N Hall St.
